    Mr J Clark

Class Teacher Hello! I’m Mr Clark and I’m delighted to be the class teacher for Buzzard Class this year. I completed my Primary Education with QTS degree at the University of Chester in 2022 and have since gained a wealth of teaching experience in Key Stage 2.

In school, I enjoy teaching across the whole curriculum and exploring new topics with the children. I do have a particular passion for Maths and P.E.

Apart from teaching, I enjoy a variety of sports. My summers are filled with playing cricket. In the winter, I avidly follow Formula One, as well as supporting Chester Football Club and playing football and squash.

At home, we have not one, not two, but three cats: Flo, Wicket and Pickle. They are all full of character and love to settle down on your lap, but only once they have had their ‘mad half hour’.

This year, I will be joined by our wonderful teaching assistant, Mr Duffy. Together, we will work alongside your child to support them on their learning journey through Year 5.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year together, filled with learning, laughter and success.

Teaching Assistant Hello! I'm Mr Duffy, Year 5 TA and I am delighted to be working with your child's class this year.

I started out in 2020 as an out of school club playworker before beginning my TA career and have been working in mainstream primary schools across Ellesmere Port, Chester, Bromborough, Runcorn, Great Sutton & Little Sutton for 6 years now (this year I am ever so lucky to be spending my seventh year in such an amazing school!) and in that time I have gained a wide range of experience across all year groups from EYFS all the way through to Year 6.
In 2022 I qualified as a HLTA & I joined Little Sutton in 2025 as a TA and I am so proud to be a part of such an incredible school.

I have a personal love for sports and technology - I am a fan of playing football, basketball & tennis, and I enjoy my fair share of using & learning new skills with tech.
I am also a massive photography fan - I do a lot of this in my spare time! I am also a big music fan - I enjoy listening to a bit of Pop music in my spare time but I have a special enjoyment to heavy metal (Metallica!)

At home, I enjoy spending time with family, and of course my pets - I have not one but two dogs - Nova & Luna who are full of character and love to lay on your lap and sleep with you. After playing a big game of chase or fetch the ball!

In school, I love being able to help the children learn new skills and see them so excited when they have managed to conquer their fears and be proud of themselves.
I have a particular interest in the subjects of PE & Computing and love being able to help teach the children during these lessons.

I am so lucky to be working with the incredible Buzzard class with a great teacher Mr Clark this year and together we will be working closely as a team to support the children during their Year 5 journey.

In our Mathematics sessions this term, we will be tackling ‘Place Value within 1,000,000’, ‘Addition & Subtraction’
In English, we will be using the books ‘Queen of the Falls’ by Chris Van Allsburg. This book will be used to stimulate our writing and enable us to compose a series of diaries about significant events in the life of Annie Edson Taylor’s life.
For guided reading sessions, our focus is a book called ‘Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls’ by Elena Favilli & Francesca Cavallo‘.
Curriculum: Our R.E. topic this term is ‘How & Why do Christians read the Bible?’ We will be investigating the different books of the Bible, as well as looking at how Christian belief affects everyday life.
Our Science learning, will be within the area of ‘Materials – Mixtures and Separation.’ Geography takes us to the oceans of the world and in Design Technology you’ll be taking a look at bridge building.
In Geography, we will be looking at North America.
