  • Mrs E Philip

    Headteacher

I have extensive teaching experience across the primary key stages in Cheshire West and Wirral. I hold the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and am a qualified SENCO, having worked in this role for many years before progressing into whole-school leadership. I joined Little Sutton Church of England Primary School in January 2024 as Deputy Headteacher and am proud to now lead the school as Headteacher.

I have a personal love of learning and enjoy developing my own knowledge, exploring new ideas and learning from others. I hope to inspire that same curiosity and enthusiasm in our children, helping them see learning as something to enjoy throughout their lives.

As a member of the local community, I understand the area we serve and value the strong relationships between our school and its families. I am passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive school where every child feels valued, supported and challenged to achieve their best.

Working closely with staff, families and our wider community, I strive to bring our Christian vision to life, helping children to grow in wisdom, live with hope, belong in community and flourish with dignity.

  • Miss J Edwards

    Reception Owls Class Teacher

I’m Miss Edwards, EYFS Lead. This is my twenty-fifth year of teaching after gaining a degree in Marketing and Educational Studies, before completing a PGCE. I began my career in KS1, I then moved to Year 6, where I stayed for fourteen years. I've been a Deputy Head and even an Acting Head, but in the classroom is where I'm happiest and where I belong. Seven years ago, I made the leap to EYFS, with the fabulous Mrs Graham. As a creative person who looks for the fun in learning, I really enjoy EYFS and the magic the children bring to it. I love books and create a classroom rich in storytelling and language. Language is the basis for all learning and helps unlock all subject matter. I love a classroom filled with chatter. We chat a lot as we play in Owl Class. That chatter helps us with our learning, but it also helps us to stay connected, support each other and feel a sense of belonging, so we can help each other thrive.

Growing up on a farm, I love the outdoors and value the opportunities we have in our wonderful school grounds, to take our learning outside. Nature is fascinating and a brilliant tool to get children wondering, investigating and caring about themselves, each other and the wider world.

It's never boring when you're in a room filled with four and five year olds. It's an adventure and we look forward to sharing our adventure with you.
  • Miss A Hayes

    Year 1 Red Kites Teacher

Hello! I’m Miss Hayes, and I am delighted to be the class teacher for Red Kite Class. I completed my PGCE in Primary Education with QTS at the University of Chester, following my degree in Theatre and Performance. During my training, I gained experience across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, including working in both mainstream and additional learning needs settings.

I am very lucky to be joined in Red Kite Class by our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs Kantor and Mr Roberts. Together, we work closely as a team to support, encourage and celebrate every child throughout their Year 1 journey.

I am passionate about creating a happy, inclusive and engaging classroom where every child feels that they belong and is excited to learn. I particularly enjoy bringing learning to life through stories, creativity, practical activities and plenty of opportunities to explore and discover.

We are really looking forward to a fantastic year together in Red Kite Class, filled with learning, laughter and lots of new adventures!
  • Mrs S Radford

    Year 2 Merlin Class Teacher

Hello! I’m Mrs Radford, and I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the team at Little Sutton this year.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working across a range of year groups in schools throughout Cheshire West. I love bringing learning to life, sharing a giggle with the children and creating those special moments when something suddenly clicks! I believe that children learn best when they feel confident to share their thoughts, explore new ideas and learn from one another. Through meaningful class discussions and plenty of opportunities to think, question and discover, we build our knowledge together in a warm, welcoming environment where mistakes are celebrated as part of the learning journey and every success matters.
One of the things I love most about teaching is watching children flourish, not only in their learning but also in their confidence, resilience and determination. Seeing them believe in themselves, embrace new challenges and keep going when things get tricky is truly special.
I’m so excited to be part of the Little Sutton family and to work alongside such a wonderful team of staff. I’m especially thrilled to be sharing the classroom with the amazingly kind and caring Mrs Thomas. Together, we’re looking forward to creating a nurturing, happy and supportive environment where every child feels valued, encouraged and inspired to be the very best they can be.
I can’t wait to get started and share lots of laughter, learning and lovely memories with our Little Sutton children!
